Activity 2.2

CHANGES TO THE ENVIRONMENT

Aim:

When you have completed this activity you will have predicted the impact of some changes on the environment. You will need to have completed Activity 1.2 (on the greenhouse effect) before you can do this one.

Procedure:

Read the Fact Sheet about global warming.

  • How do you think human activities might affect the water cycle? Discuss your ideas with a partner.
  • Take out the flowchart you made in Activity 1.2.
  • Cut out the flowchart cards below. Arrange them on your existing flowchart (from Activity 1.2) and link them with other cards using words and arrows. If you can, put your global warming cards and arrows in a different colour.
  • Explain your changed flowchart to your partner. In your explanation include your ideas on how people have changed the natural environment.
